The Case Card of
a Typical Randlane Actor
The patient: A Sunday actor/actress, also an amateur
Symptoms: Most often are cases when the patient leaves suddenly home or
work and gives an excuse as a rehearsal, a performance,
etc.; an irresistible will of acting, i.e. not being oneself; before
the theatrical the sick often feel agitated, sometimes even panic-stricken,
which, after the performance ends, turns into euphoria, oppression
or content; strong cattle instinct which appears in the will to communicate,
celebrate red letter days together and even have lunch together; at a severe case
the sick spend days and/or nights in the hall of a small recreation centre,
even if there is nothing to do for them.
Diagnosis: An extraordinarily altruistic form of love for theatre
Prognosis: Progressive

Treatment: Doesnt subject to any known hacks
of common medicine. Soothable in a small amount and temporarily with physiotherapy.
The impact of alternative medicine unknown. Total isolation could cause severe
psychic disturbance. The only known method to ease the process of the illness
is to let the patient act in his/her own favourite area (to allow the person freely
to the stage), give the person the permission to enter his/her wanted
role. Constant medical supervision is necessary, also to assure the
presence of a so-called director.
Preventive maintenance: As the first symptoms of the disease assert in
most cases in childhood or in adolescence, the parents of the poorly should be
asked to turn to local therapeutic institutions acting classes
of music schools, school theatres or amateur acting classes
as soon as applicable symptoms come to service. In severer cases the doctor in
chief should be contacted.
